ABOUT US

My Husband and I, live in a rural area just outside of the small country township of Nanango, in South East Queensland, Australia.  Nanango is close to Kingaroy, the Peanut capital of Australia. Our property consists of 313 acres of timbered grazing country nestled close to a large area of State Forest. It is gently undulating, with semi-permanent creeks and 3 dams which our dogs enjoy on hot Summer days.

We have been quite heavily involved in the horse and beef industries when we were younger, but now, have horses and cattle on a much smaller scale to fulfill our love of a rural, country life style. Rather than compete with my horses these days, I really enjoy  trail riding, poking about behind the cattle and the challenge of training them at 'Liberty' - no halter, bridle, saddle.  I hope to pursue this a lot more in the coming years.

Our Corgi's are keen to work cattle (their original purpose) so herding, along with other dogs sports including Tricks,

Obedience and Agility will become my focus, while still attending some conformation shows.

I am excited to show off ALL the talents this beautiful breed has to offer.

We have ALWAYS had dogs - we always WILL have dogs. They are part of who we are and we enjoy their company and antics every single day.

THE HISTORY

Having had Border Collies for over 25 years, I had always admired the quirky little Corgi dog.  Co-incidentally, my husband had Corgi's on his families' farm when he was a child.

The possibility to own and show my first corgi came, when I purchased my first ANKC

registered Pembroke, a sassy, tri-coloured female 'Pebbles'.

Pebbles had a short show career and I bred my first ever Corgi litter from her resulting in 2 females I also showed.  'Pebbles' soon became our favourite little house dog and she is now my Tricks partner.  Having qualified in 3 trials in the one day she achieved her Starters Tricks Title and we have since qualified for one Novice Trial. She's my loyal offsider that goes with me everywhere and she makes us laugh every single day. She is still extremely sassy, which is one of the things we love most about her.

After 'Pebbles' I purchased 'Buttons' whom I showed as well.  A Grand Daughter of buttons,  'Puzzle' has since been exported to Hungary and has won at World Dog Show in Croatia as well as being highly placed at Eurocorgi in Denmark.  Her show career has only just begun! From this same litter I retained 'Fame' and 'Mary Lou' who are in my current show team, along with 'Signo' (see his very own page) our beautiful imported Hungarian boy who has stolen our hearts! I cannot wait to see the combination of of these genetics!

'Buttons' our kind, gentle girl, will be found in future generations of Bunyaview Corgi kids.

She is retired and remains with us. She is our chief Quad Bike driver. (well maybe co-driver)

THE FUTURE

Going ahead, I plan on participating in Conformation Shows, Obedience, Tricks, Agility and Herding.

Yes! Busy times ahead for Bunyaview Corgi's!

My goal is to produce Pembrokes of outstanding quality.  Quality - not quantity.

Sound, well structured, good looking, good natured, intelligent, agile, well socialised, happy, healthy dogs.

I cannot wait to see what the future brings.

APPRECIATION

In saying this, there is no future if there was no 'past'.

I thank every breeder that has shared their genetics with me.

Genetics that have sometimes taken life times to produce and achieve.

As Registered Breeders (in my case AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL KENNEL CLUB - ANKC) of purebred dogs,

we are custodians of the breed, maintaining the type to the Standard.

The future of purebred dogs are in our hands.

Sharing genetics in the pursuit of improving this most beautiful breed (and all purebred dogs)

is so important, and appreciated.

Puppy families - when you receive the pedigree of your beloved puppy in the mail - just take a moment to glance through and appreciate all the dogs in your puppy's family tree. All the Breeders that contributed to the most beautiful puppy you have recently acquired. So much work, so much dedication.
